Our itinerary 12pm Complimentary pick up from your Kuala Lumpur hotel and depart for the Carey Islands, home of sea gypsies – an indigenous tribe called the Mah Meri recognized by UNESCO with awards for 2 handicraft works – the mask and the blowpipe in honor of their wood carving skills. The Head of the tribe asks the ancestors during their Hari Moyang (Ancestors’ Feast Day) for better living, more divine protection and better business. Hari Moyang falls in March every year. Our specially trained Gypsy Guide who is a gypsy herself will belt out the facts of her people. Move on to the BUKIT MELAWATI HILLS - a Fort Hill with a lighthouse, Executioner’s Stone, a poisoned well and the Royal Graves of 3 sultans. You will be driven through the countryside - photo stops at interesting houses on stilts. You will be greeted by the silvered leaf monkeys in clusters of 10 foraging for food. Photo shoots aplenty. Adjourn for a sumptuous Seafood dinner at a riverside restaurant. Malaysia has the largest firefly colony in the world. FIREFLIES are lighting bugs that come out after dusk. Catch a boat for an exhilarating ride to watch dazzling fireflies resting, feeding and making love daily – a mating ritual. Their synchronous flash is produced by a biochemical reaction in their light organs situated on their bottoms. A fascinating sight to behold and silence to prevail.
