Overview : This tour starts from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on shared basis. A very popular tour done within a day covering Canopy walkway, Rapids Shooting, Aborigine Village and Jungle Trekking. Canopy Walkway closed on Fridays and during bad weather. Taman Negara is a 130 million years old tropical rainforest, home of endangered mammals as in Tigers, Tapirs, Elephants, Sun Bears, Pythons etc. 14,000 flowering plants, 300 bird species, medicinal and poisonous plants, not forgetting the elusive aphrodisiacs. Our itinerary KUALA LUMPUR-KUALA TAHAN-KUALA LUMPUR (3 1/2hrs drive per way) 6am Complimentary pick up from your Kuala Lumpur hotel. If your hotel provides breakfast request for packed breakfast one day before and you can have the breakfast in the car. If not we could get breakfast on the way. On arrival at Kuala Tahan Jetty tour begins. No waiting as Nature Guide and boat will be ready. Jungle trek to the Canopy Walkway for a bird’s eye view of the world’s oldest rainforest. The boatman skillfully negotiates 7 sets of rapids to reach an aborigine village where the ladies shy away and the men ‘run’ away only to reappear with their fire making and hunting tools for a ‘native’ demonstration. You can partake in blowpipe and fire making activities. These naïve people sustain their living with small farming, fishing, hunt smaller animals with their blowpipes, sell medicinal herbs and spices. They are being rehabilitated. The rainforest is their supermarket The Special Taman Negara Nature Guide will belt out facts and taboo about the Rainforest. He lives in Taman Negara and knows the terrain like the back of his hands. You may be lucky if you sight monkeys, birds, flying foxes crashing on the crown shy canopy above, but if you see a tiger ……? We ain’t sure for sure who will be lucky ! Visit the iconic Batu Caves and climb 272 steps into temole of Hindu Deity. Ladies to be properly attired to enter the temple - knees and shoulders to be covered., Return transfer to Kuala Lumpur arriving approximately 6pm.
